EXPONENTIELL

Exponential shows in real time in the year 2035 how one species on our planet will die out forever every 54 seconds.  This sounds hopeless at first - but the installation also shows us what opportunities we all still have to change the future.

Currently, one species on our planet dies out every 9.6 minutes. The reasons for this are well known. But exponential developments are not necessarily negative. They can also go in the opposite direction.

According to seawatch, the world's oceans will be completely empty by 2040 due to overfishing. Among other things, this will trigger a global famine.

However, if the whole world were to stop eating fish for just two years, the total fish content of the oceans would recover completely.

EXPONENTIAL, an immersive installation, takes you to the year 2035, showcasing the irreversible extinction of species in real time. Located in a secret place in Berlin, this experience challenges our linear understanding of time. By exploring the impact of exponential processes, the exhibition highlights how the full effects are only grasped when viewed from a future perspective.
